Day 13: FedEx festive top tips for small businesses
#13 Improve Your Visibility
Christmas is coming and at FedEx we want to help your business be fully prepared this festive season. For today’s top tip, please see below:
During such a busy time, visibility is fundamental to operations – even Santa Claus himself needs help from his reindeer to guide his sleigh! When it comes to sending gifts, it’s absolutely vital they arrive on time for 25 December. Even more importantly, items need to be delivered and presented to the customer exactly how they are expecting them to look when they arrive.
Most logistics providers offer a wide range of tracking options, allowing you to check the status of your shipments at any given moment. Enhanced visibility and awareness helps to manage customers’ expectations accordingly and provides you with the knowledge to keep them regularly updated on their shipment. Transparency in customer service is particularly important during busier times of the year – if you don’t set explicit expectations for service and delivery, customers might have their own expectations in mind, which could be unrealistic for your business. Being clear and open is an essential aspect of avoiding any potential disappointment and ensuring repeat custom in the New Year.
