OSV move to larger premises company expansion.
Times have been tough for business since the global economic downturn of 2008-2009, with many companies still struggling to get back on track. Bucking the trend, independent Sussex car leasing and supply professionals, OSV Ltd, have set in motion plans for significant expansion, with new premises and a growing team.
OSV, who specialise in the leasing, sales and financing of all makes and models of cars and vans, pride themselves on delivering a friendly, jargon-free service. As such, it’s vital that they employ the right people for the job, and have already increased their team in the last twelve months, creating four new jobs within the Sales Team. The exciting news for the local economy is that the expansion doesn’t stop there; having recently relocated to more spacious premises, the company is looking to add a number of new positions in early 2016, while aiding the promotion of existing staff through a comprehensive Leadership Development Programme.
‘It’s imperative for us that we invest in our people,’ says Debbie Kirkley, joint Company Director. ‘A key focus for us throughout 2016 will be our employee development, making sure that they have the right training, coaching and feedback to make them the best at what they do.’
‘Due to our rapid growth and another record breaking sales performance this year, we are planning to double our Finance and Administration Team, as well as developing the Sales Team,’ adds husband and Co-Director Andrew Kirkley. ‘Although we have impressive growth strategies and investment in technological development, we believe in a personalised approach. Our success is based on our absolute focus on the needs of our customers, and our staff are crucial in that.’
OSV was founded by husband and wife team, Andrew and Debbie Kirkley in 1997. A Fleet Manager for a prestigious car dealer, Andrew was already familiar with the pressures of the industry and had a good idea of what it would take to make his own business stand out from the crowd. When Debbie’s business acumen was added to the mix, they formed the dream team. During the last eighteen years they have taken OSV from a two-person fledging business and turned it into a thriving company with 17 employees and more soon to come.
‘We love seeing the business grow and the people develop,’ says Debbie. ‘We never would have thought that we’d be in a position to expand so quickly. It’s partly due to the wonderful team spirit at OSV – we’re always so impressed by the innovative thinking exhibited by our employees – and friends.’
The original driving force behind the brand was a desire to provide high quality vehicles at superb prices, with exceptional customer service. The car sales industry hasn’t always had a good reputation, OSV have gone a long way to counter that in Sussex.
