ACCA Advantage event wins national award
ACCA’s (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) hugely successful Advantage 2015 event has won the ‘Best Use of Event Technology’ at the Association Excellence Awards.
In just its second year ACCA Advantage is the UKs largest accounting and finance virtual careers fair, this year attracting 3,500 registrations, a 13% increase in attendees from 2014 and 40 top employers including Amazon and Grant Thornton.
Claire Bennison, Head of marketing – ACCA Western Europe, said: “We know that getting that first break is hugely important to those entering the job market. We wanted to create an event that not only brought job-seekers and employers together, but by making this an online event prospective applicants could apply for roles there and then.
“Most careers fairs still operate on the old model of having students and employers travel to a set location, but job search doesn’t work like that anymore. We were determined to create an event that didn’t exclude anyone because of location and fitted in with the way those entering the job market choose to search for roles.
“The technology enabled students to move easily around the event and chat to ACCA members and advisors for expert guidance and link up easily with the 40 employers who were present at ACCA Advantage. This event enhances ACCA’s careers website which supports students in their job searching.
“It is a team effort to make the Advantage event as successful as it was, and I’m delighted the team have been recognised for the efforts by winning this award.”
ACCA Advantage ran on 23 and 24 September and was open to all UK graduates and undergraduates.
