Day 17: FedEx festive top tips for small businesses
#17 Remember the Last Shipping Day
Christmas is coming and at FedEx we want to help your business be fully prepared this festive season. For today’s top tip, please see below:
Knowing your logistics provider’s last shipping day is extremely important, so you can plan and manage your delivery service. The last shipping day is likely to vary depending on the provider and will also depend on the service you use. The majority of logistics companies are seasoned professionals when it comes to Christmas deliveries so it is always worth getting their opinion on how best to navigate festive supply and demand. Don’t leave transportation until the last minute. If shipping via FedEx, the last advised shipping date for delivery before Christmas will depend on the origin and destination of a customer’s shipment.
Once you discover the last shipping day remember to inform your customers. You can do this by having a prominent countdown on your website, regularly updating your social media followers and if you have a database, send emails or texts to your regular customers. This could encourage your customers to purchase gifts sooner while allowing them to plan when they are likely to receive their items in the run up to Christmas Day.
