Knaresborough IT service provider expands with acquisition of rival firm
Vital Network Solutions, the regional provider of business IT services, has significantly expanded after acquiring a local competitor.
As part of the acquisition, the Knaresborough-based company has added six new member of staff further enhancing its technical expertise and range of services.
Octari Ltd, which is based at Tower Works in Granary Wharf, Leeds, has been bought for an undisclosed sum from the firm’s founder, Marcus Robinson, who founded the company in 2004.
Both Vital and Octari offer a range of IT solutions, such as support, business continuity, Microsoft infrastructure and cloud services, to small and medium-sized businesses across Yorkshire and the UK.
Octari is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner whose staff hold a range of Microsoft certifications and is well respected within the IT industry as a provider of innovative solutions based on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
Vital Network Solutions is part of Vital Technology Group, which was established in 2006 and includes web development business Vital Online Studio, ecommerce IT equipment provider Vital Supplies and business communications specialist Vital Telecommunications.
Lee Evans, managing director of Vital Network Solutions, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Octari team into the Vital family. The acquisition of Octari is a great way to end 2016 which was already a year of positive growth for us.
“Octari has a similar ethos to Vital, working closely with its customers and earning itself a well-respected reputation. We both have a strong client base, our services complement each other and this reinforces our position as a one of the region’s leading IT service providers.”
Vital is one of Microsoft’s top UK cloud partners holding Small & MidMarket Cloud Solutions (SMCS) competency, while its training program has seen it twice win the Small Business Apprentice of the Year Award for the Yorkshire and the Humber Region, as well as being named one of the UK’s top 10 Apprentice Employers.
