TLJ installs RFID locks at Coventy student accommodation
Yorkshire-based security company TLJ Security Systems has bolstered the security of a popular student accommodation building in Coventry.
TLJ, a leading supplier of smart security technologies to the accommodation industry, has installed its TLJ Infinity electronic lock at Callice Court in Coventry.
Situated in the heart of Coventry University, just minutes from the city centre, Callice Court is operated by Unite Students, the UK’s leading provider of purpose built student accommodation.
Unite Students selected TLJ to replace the magnetic swipe card system at Callice Court with a locking system that utilities radio-frequency identification (RFID) contactless technology. Following TLJ’s installation, students can now use a key fob to open doors, carpark gates and automatic doors.
Luke Martin, managing director at TLJ, said: “Contactless locks have numerous benefits over the traditional magnetic stripe locks, including extensive data storage capacity and unlimited lifespan of the key cards. Magnetic stripes can be easily demagnetised, especially when placed in a pocket near a mobile phone, or damaged by friction between the magnetic stripe and the lock.”
“We’re thrilled to have helped leading student accommodation provider Unite Students provide students with an easy to use, yet highly-secure locking system.”
