December’s North East spotlight series: Kari Owers

Kari Owers, MD of PR and creative communications agency O, is the latest North East business leader to fall under our December spotlight.

Enjoy!

Your business

What were the highlights for your business in 2015?

Achieving a record-breaking year of growth in our 10th year in business and seeing the curve continue well into 2016.

A highlight was our Christmas party last week with our new faces that joined the team this year – a growing team of cracking people is our biggest achievement in 2015.

Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently this year?

In all honesty not a thing, it’s been a great year.

Is there anything we should watch out for your company doing next year?

Our reputation for influencer marketing is growing in key markets like food, fashion and travel so watch out for some exciting new services around blogger engagement.

Your favourites

Have any other North East companies impressed you this year, if so – why?

The success of local company Parkdean Holidays becoming a leader in the UK domestic holiday market, thanks to its merger with Park Resorts, makes me very proud of the entrepreneurial spirit we have here in the North East.

When business life gets on top of you, what do you do to destress?

Run, do some exercise with my trainer, cook or go shopping in Fenwick!

Have any social media accounts caught your eye this year, any favourite pages or people to follow?

I like Newcastle Airport’s Twitter feed as they always interact with people travelling through their doors. Virgin Trains has been fun to watch on Twitter too, the toilet roll tweeter incident was genius.

The what ifs

If you could do any job in the world what would it be?

PR for an international hotel chain, with an unlimited stay allocation.

If you could go back in time, which piece of advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t sweat the small stuff.

What would be the perfect Christmas gift for you?

A holiday somewhere hot with my family. A box of After Eights always makes me happy too.

Thanks Kari, Merry Christmas from the Bdaily team.
