American diner yanks up appetites in Yeadon following £100k investment

An authentic new American diner has officially opened for the first time in Leeds.

Huckleberry’s Diner is now open for business on the High Street in Yeadon after its owners, Jon and Sarah Rowlands, invested over £100k in the new venture, which also created ten jobs ranging from head chef to servers.

The launch of the Yeadon restaurant comes after Huckleberry’s original diner near Flaxton in York, which opened in 2012, proved to be a huge success.

Known for being Britain’s first Man v Food diner, the original Flaxton restaurant has been featured on numerous TV programmes for its popular food challenges.

The Yeadon diner is now offering some of the orginial challenges on its menu alongside several specially created new additions.

Among them include ‘Satan’s Lollipops’, a spiced-up selection of 10 chicken wings with no drinking allowed and a 10 minute afterburn period.

Sarah Rowlands, co-founder and co-owner of Huckleberry’s, said: “We’re very excited to be opening up our second restaurant in three years and hope the people of Leeds have the appetite for the fantastic menu and authentic American experience we have in store for them. We pride ourselves on quality AND quantity and for those mighty appetites out there I can guarantee that as the UKs first Man v Food restaurant, our challenges are seriously meaty!

“As well as catering for the largest of appetites we also offer a comprehensive menu of classic American diner staples such as steaks, chicken, burgers, ribs and hot dogs for those who don’t wish to bite off more than they can handle! We’re really looking forward to serving up our delicious treats in truly authentic American surroundings to the good folks of Leeds and we’re confident that they’ll be back for more.”
