Female entrepreneurship: Winlaton-born businesswoman launches estate agency

Living local, a startup estate agency, has opened in Winlaton, offering the local and surrounding area a new property sales and lettings service.

Following ten years of industry experience, Winlaton-born and bred proprietor Emma Mitchinson officially launched the business on saturday, where the Mayor of Gateshead Councillor Alex Geddes was in attendance.

Commenting on the reasons behind setting up the venture, Emma said: “I was born and bred in Winlaton and could see an opportunity to become my own boss and serve the local community.”

A self funded startup, Emma believes her ethos and personable approach to work will set her apart from existing competition in the market.

“What sets me apart from my competition is the fact I will be answering calls and emails 9am-9pm, 7 days a week, so my customers will always be able to contact me when they need me,” revealed Emma.

“If someone wanted a viewing or a valuation on a Sunday afternoon that’s no problem. I am absolutely passionate about giving great customer service and go the extra mile to deliver that to hopefully change the negative perception that people have about estate agents,” explained Emma.

Assuming a holistic approach to helping her customers, the entrepreneurial estate agent is looking to meet client needs by applying both traditional and new approaches to property management.

She added: “My job is to sell/let someone’s property and to do that I will use exceptional photographs, floor plans as standard, social media and great online marketing details, as well as good old fashioned phone and face to face conversations in our newly refurbished office.”
