Manchester Cloud IT provider celebrates one year trading

Manchester-based provider of cloud IT services Synextra has just celebrated its first year trading and is on track to announce a £330,000 turnover. The Trafford Park-based business was created to fill a void in the IT services market and has already brought its innovative cloud-based virtual desktop to more than 50 SMEs across the UK.

The ambitious business has strong growth plans, which includes £1.2 million turnover across the next two years.

Technical director Chris Piggott said: “We’re massively proud to announce our first year of trading with a very healthy turnover. Our team is expanding rapidly and we have a fantastic growing client base who we look forward to working with for many more years.”

Managing director Michael Pyne said: “Synextra has had an unbelievable first year since it was launched and we believe next year will see fast growth in numbers of clients and our internal team.”

Synextra is based in Warren Bruce Court in Trafford Park and has grown to a team of 10 employees. Chris Piggott launched the business in November last year, backed by Altrincham-based NHMC Investments & Credit, because he knew the traditional IT infrastructure for the majority of offices was out-dated and inefficient, as was the standard offering of IT support.

Additionally, he believed that SMEs should have access to the type of IT infrastructure previously only afforded by enterprise and multi-national businesses. By using Synextra’s specifically-designed technology and ‘one-stop shop’ for services, SMEs can scale up very quickly meaning they can compete, collaborate and grow.

Synextra offers a unique proposition for SMEs by running their entire office IT infrastructure via the cloud on a virtual desktop. Employees can use any laptop, desktop or device and once they log-in to the virtual desktop, they have exactly the same version of software and access to files as every other colleague.

In previous IT roles, Chris had identified customer pain points with current set-ups, which included difficulty in sharing and collaborating digitally, difficulties in working flexibly and archaic infrastructures, which are very hard to manage.

Traditional IT support companies are generally the middleman, renting out server space, cloud space and telephony lines, which means they have little or no control when something goes down.

By comparison, Synextra owns and runs its own cloud, data storage and servers, as well as telephony lines so has the ultimate control in dealing with problems that may arise.

Services provided by Synextra include: cloud hosting, leased lines, hosted VOIP, connectivity, telephony and unified comms, all of which include support services.
