December's North East spotlight series: Sara Eke

Sara Eke started her recruitment business, Sara Eke Recruitment Ltd, in Tynemouth 12 years ago and moved north to Rock in 2009. Sara now works with clients from the Borders to Teesside, with the majority of her work coming from Northumberland and North and South Tyneside. Read on to find out what happened when Sara fell under our December spotlight.

Your business

What were the highlights for your business in 2015?

Placing candidates in diverse roles from a production assembler in a factory to a chef in a coaching inn to a digital marketing executive. I love the variety of businesses that I work with and the challenges of finding the right person for the right job at the right time.

Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently this year?

Traditionally, our business has concentrated on finding permanent positions but we will now be targetting more temporary business.

Is there anything we should watch out for your company doing next year?

Increasing our temporary business and continuing to provide a personal and professional service to all our clients.

Have any other North East companies impressed you this year, if so - why?

Analox - They have grown their business on a global basis from a well -established site in the North East and are constantly innovative, researching and developing new products.

When business life gets on top of you, what do you do to destress?

Go sea fishing, we’ve got a 24 foot motor sailer moored at Amble and there’s nothing better than relaxing out at sea

Have any social media accounts caught your eye this year, any favourite pages or people to follow?

I read Bdaily every day and act on any leads or good news stories.

The what ifs

If you could do any job in the world what would it be?

Living in the countryside you get an appreciation for nature and I’d love to be a florist!

If you could go back in time, which piece of advice would you give your younger self?

Be patient!

What would be the perfect Christmas gift for you?

Spending quality time with my hubby!
