Soup-er Human fundraiser for Rotherham Charity

South Yorkshire recruitment consultancy Human Recruitment has shown their soup-er supportive side by taking part in The Rotherham Hospice’s Big Fundraising Event.

Creating cakes and soups is not a usual day in the office of a recruitment company, but Human founder Amy Stephenson and her colleague Caroline Travis took the time out to source ingredients and market the Soup-er Human soup kitchen where soup, bread rolls and cakes were sold to raise funds for the hospice.

With a starting loan of £20.00 to purchase ingredients to make the soup and cakes but spending only £1.40, Amy and Caroline raised £140.00 to give back to The Rotherham Hospice, joining forces with other businesses, community groups and schools.

Alongside other South Yorkshire businesses and with generous donations from Urban Pantry Deli, Moorhead Savage and Tesco, Human Recruitment’s Amy and Caroline made pennies into pounds selling the soup, bread rolls and cakes to visitors and occupiers at the Moorgate Crofts Business Centre.

Running from the 26th November through to 4th March 2016, the Big Fundraising Event challenges local businesses, community groups and schools to turn a small loan - donated by Oxley and Coward Solicitors - into a higher sum donation through fundraising activities to help raise £22,500 for the charity.

Amy Stephenson, founder of Human Recruitment, said:

“Human Recruitment is a people focused business which aims to put a human face to the often badly represented recruitment industry. Investing back into the local community has been a huge part of the company since Human launched. We have always seen profit as a by-product of what we do rather than the reason we do it. This approach allows us to add value to the community we work in and for.

“The Rotherham Hospice has been a prominent part of Rotherham and its care system for over 20 years and we couldn’t think of a better way of supporting them than to join in with The Big Fundraiser. Alongside other generous businesses from throughout Rotherham, we have been a part of something which will help others in the future.”

Since launching in 2013, Human Recruitment, based in Moorgate Crofts Business Centre, has put investing back to the local community at the top of its business ethos and has supported charities and good causes such as Weston Park Cancer Hospital and Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospital through its involvement with the Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival. More recently, the company has committed to support grass roots sports through the Rotherham District Sunday League and offer their services free of charge to educational charity Grimm & Co.

Further support for local charities is available through Human Recruitment’s ‘Super Human’ service. Any local charities or good causes looking for sponsorship, support with fundraising or advice with recruitment should contact superhumans@recruithuman.co.uk or call 01709 717212
