Twixmas celebrations at The Assembly Rooms and Bonbar

Newcastle’s Assembly Rooms and Bonbar is enjoying a fruitful festive period and gearing up for its biggest parties of the year, with two New Year’s Eve events taking place at the city centre venues.

For party-goers looking to see in 2016 in style, Bonbar & Studio 467 presents ‘New Year’s Eve Black and White Ball 2015’.

The club night will take inspiration from the glamorous era of the 70s and undoubtedly the most infamous nightclub in history, New York City’s Studio 54, renowned as a playground for the rich and famous, as Bonbar is transformed into a destination of decadence, debauchery and disco.

Join the party from 9pm until 4am and dance the night away to the sounds of DJ Udo and DJ Aiden Copland and make sure to dress to impress in black and white. Tickets and table bookings are available now.

To celebrate the start of the New Year with family and friends, join the iconic Assembly Rooms for a decadent Gala Dinner.

The evening will begin at 7pm with a prosecco reception, with dinner served at 8pm. Choose from starters including chicken liver parfait and salmon three ways, main courses including fillet of Northumberland beef and chicken stuffed with spinach and pancetta and for something sweet, mini chocolate pots.

Take to the dancefloor where the venue’s resident DJ will be playing party favourites throughout the evening until 1.30am, and don’t miss the special piper performance as the clock strikes midnight. Tickets are priced at £59.50 per adult and £35 for children under 10 years.

Serving up locally sourced ingredients has been high on the venue’s agenda for this year’s Christmas celebrations, with over 500 turkeys, two and a half tonnes of vegetables and three tonnes of potatoes plated up to guests this December.

Antony Michaelides, managing director at The Assembly Rooms, said: “We love the Christmas and Twixmas periods at The Assembly Rooms and Bonbar and playing host to so many wonderful festive celebrations is fantastic. It’s great to see people having a good time!

“I’m a big believer in supporting fellow North East businesses and always try to ensure that local produce is used in our kitchens, at the heart of the food we serve where possible.”

For true Twixmas revellers, there is also a Be Somebody Boxing Day Special on Saturday 26 December until late.
