Dhabi Nortech begins to grow Middle Eastern engineering promise
The newly forged Dhabi Nortech partnership, the joint venture between Billingham-based Nortech Group and Dhabi Contracting LLC, has landed a second Abu Dhabi contract.
Nortech forged an agreement with Middle East contracting company Dhabi Contracting LLC earlier this year, forming a new business to deliver engineering services in the United Arab Emirates.
Working with Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Dhabi Nortech will project manage, engineer and design the Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) complex in Abu Dhabi.
The contract, granted by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd (GASCO), will allow the partnership to use its services to replace the Liquid Sulphur Loading Arm & Electric Heat Tracing (EHT) System at the facility. Once operational, the Ruwais complex will have a capacity of 900 mmscfd of Natural Gas, 12,000t/d of NGL and 5,000t/d of Liquid Sulphur.
Bryan Bunn, Managing Director of the Nortech Group, said: “We are extremely honoured to continue our relationship with GASCO with the awarding of this contract for its prestigious Ruwais project.
“Securing a second significant contract from GASCO so early in the development of Dhabi Nortech is a clear endorsement of the skills and expertise we are bringing to the Middle East market. It will help take the business forward and deliver growth in this vibrant, but competitive market.”
Sami Edwards, General Manager for Dhabi Contracting, said: “The progress our partnership with Nortech is achieving within its first year of operation is very impressive and highlights the benefits of collaborative working.
“Bringing together our specialisms into a combined venture is enabling us to access new opportunities and offer integrated solutions, which meet the challenges of the Middle East energy market.”
The awarding of this project follows on from the joint venture securing its inaugural contract in the Middle East in the summer, an upgrade to a flare system at one of GASCO’s major onshore gas processing facilities.
