Flame Heating Spares brings in Scott amidst expansion

Trade supplies firm Flame Heating Spares, has recruited Simon Scott as business development manager.

The appointment comes as the North East firm prepares to open its fifth branch, in Stockton, following its move to new premises and the opening of an outlet in Sunderland earlier this year.

Simon, 34, possesses 15 years’ experience in the heating and plumbing industry, as well as in social housing, after starting out as a warehouse assistant and working his way up to become a manager at a national plumbing firm.

Reporting directly to managing director, John Savage, Simon will be responsible for Flame Heating Spares’ sales activities, including sales strategies, business development and the management of client relationships.

Mr Scott said: “I have known John for a long time and have watched Flame grow over the years, so the decision to come on board was a no-brainer. It is an exciting opportunity as the company looks set to expand throughout the region, starting with the opening of the Stockton branch.

“The role provides a good fit for my experience and skills, and I am looking forward to being part of its ambitious growth plans.”

Flame Heating Spares currently operates throughout the North East with branches in Durham, Gateshead, South Shields and Sunderland, with further branches expected to be opened in the New Year.

John Savage, managing director of Flame Heating Spares, said: “Simon has a significant amount of experience in the industry, and his appointment will support and help drive our growth. I am now hoping to create further job opportunities in 2016 as we expect to open further outlets throughout the North East.

“It is great to now be in a position to expand into the Tees Valley as we prepare to launch in Stockton, following on from the success of our Sunderland and head office moves. I am excited about what the future holds for the company and would like to welcome Simon to Flame Heating Spares.”
