Industry Leader Sets the Standards for Asset Management Services

One of the UK’s leading housing and support services business – Just Housing Group (JHG) - has launched its latest offering in recognition of best practice in the delivery of asset management.

The innovative East London based company has revealed its new initiative, the JHG kite-mark, designed to lead the way in improving services delivered to social landlords.

Created from over 100 reviews of internal maintenance teams and external contractors, the comprehensive kite-mark review will allow the company to devise practical and achievable improvement plans based on solid evidence and data analysis.

Speaking about the company’s new solution, John Swinney, CEO at JHG said: “As a progressive company, we are passionate advocates in developing innovative solutions for the housing sector. Our aim is to continually improve processes to help social landlords improve their service, and we firmly believe our new offering allows them to do exactly that.”

The kite-mark process involves a desktop review which has been specifically linked to a performance template and questionnaire. This will measure quality and efficiency against industry standards.

The template itself reflects the practices of best performers in the housing sector and asset rich areas within the private sector. Utilising the robust template will allow JHG to develop comprehensive asset management review strategies that will provide social landlords with the opportunity to save money through addressing identified areas of improvements leading to increased efficiencies.

John added: “Times are changing in the sector and it is imperative that we take a more proactive and positive approach to meeting the challenges faced. As budgets are progressively being squeezed, it is highly likely that housing associations are going to have to place a much stronger focus on looking after its assets. Our comprehensive kite-mark review will help social housing providers to do exactly that within a positive and supportive framework.”

And the launch of the JHG kite-mark comes on the back of the company introducing its new Service Hub, also designed to alleviate challenges faced in the social housing sector. As part of its new Hub, the business has opened up its extensive business offering to allow social housing organisations to use their full range of services, as and when required. This can be done over a short term basis to fill in any gaps, eliminating the need for extensive procurement and lengthy contract discussions.

Established in 2004, JHG provides services and support in the supply, management and maintenance of social housing. The organisation specialises in the review and improvement of asset management services and has built a strong reputation in the setting up and transformation of Internal Maintenance Services (IMS). It has offices in London and employs 25 staff.
