British transport industry sharing insight at global event
Transport Ticketing & Passenger Information Global is set to bring together some of Britain’s foremost experts in the eighth annual gathering of the public transport community. Exploring the latest developments in smart ticketing and transit, the three day event will impact the future of passenger travel in the UK.
Beginning with a guest keynote from Clare Perry, MP and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, the conference will provide a comprehensive examination of the opportunities and challenges of improving the end-to-end journey for Londoners. Matthew Hudson, Head of Business Development at Transport for London, and Andrew Anderson, Business Design Manager at Transport for London, will deliver presentations and panel debates centred on optimising the Oyster card. Exploring how existing smartcard technology can be upgraded, they will discuss transit innovation as part of a cost-effective, seamless transport strategy. Lauren Sager Weistein, Head of Analytics at Transport for London, will then deliver a data driven speaker session titled ‘Understand how your future passengers will choose to travel and consume data: take a look at projected forecasts for modal shifts and how you need to adapt your service’.
Other expert speakers representing key UK regions include Mike Lewis (Custom Experience and Contactless Lead, Customer Smart Programme) at Transport for Greater Manchester. Examining the balance between collaboration and competition on the journey to enabling the Northern Powerhouse, he will reveal insight on Transport for the North Integrated and Smart Travel initiative. Andy Gibbons, Head of Public Transport at Nottingham City Council, will present a case study titled ‘Nottingham’s very smart ITSO ticketing and retailing: offering retail channel choice and complex capping to simplify a customer’s experience’.
A panel discussion chaired by Justin Stenner, Head of Technology for Heathrow Express, will discuss what the public transport industry can learn from the aviation sector when updating their ticketless platforms.
The conference will also feature representatives from organisations such as The Department of Transport, Consult Hyperion, ATOC, Ridango, Connexxion, Bytemark Inc, Global Travel Ventures and Go Ahead Group, while partners and sponsors include Visa, Fujitsu, Vix Technology, Parkeon, Cubic, Snapper, EOS Uptrade, Hacon, Scheidt & Bachmann, Thales.
A wide ranging exhibition, running alongside the conference, will offer the opportunity for delegates to interact with the latest technologies first-hand and meet with potential and existing suppliers.
Transport Ticketing & Passenger Information Global 2016 takes place at Old Billingsgate, London on 26-28 January. A full two day Conference Pass is £1,599. Transport operators and government officials can attend for free.
