Liverpool FC announce global Skype deal
Liverpool FC have struck a new global partnership with software firm Skype.
The deal will see LFC emoticons made available for fans using the video chat app, with the first set including mini versions of players Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge, captain Jordan Henderson and manager Jürgen Klopp.
Skype is also set to introduce an LFC Skype ID, LFCofficial, giving Reds fans a platform for interacting in group chats during matches and accessing exclusive content.
The club’s chief commercial officer, Billy Hogan, said of the partnership: “Skype is one of those essential communication tools that people use to interact with friends and family across the world.
“Through this partnership we’re enabling Liverpool FC’s global family to interact with the club and we’re delighted to be working together so closely on this great piece of innovation that our fans can enjoy every day.”
Skype consumer marketing GM Angie Hill, said the firm is excited to be launching a new way for Liverpool fans to come together.
She continued: “Through Skype chats and custom content, we look forward to bringing these fans even closer to the action.”
