Communicator helps deliver great Christmas to North East children

Staff at Newcastle-based Communicator emptied their pockets at Christmas and donated gifts to local charity Children North East’s Giving Tree Appeal.

One in four children and young adults in the North East live below the official poverty line. Children North East is North East England’s very own children’s charity, working against that stat and is currently celebrating 125 years of transforming the lives of disadvantaged children across the region.

With over 70 members of staff, Communicator is a strategic email service partner, focused on helping ambitious brands optimise their performance across multiple channels. Communicator’s mission was to purchase approximately 130 Christmas presents to help local young adults and children who are living below the poverty line.

Lauren Gibson, Digital Campaign Executive at Communicator, contacted the charity after a positive response from colleagues keen to support the cause.

Lauren said; “Christmas is an expensive time for everyone but I knew colleagues would dig deep and show their generosity. We had a great response with a mountain of gifts purchased for young adults who needed support over the holiday period. Gifts included everyday essentials that people take for granted such as food parcels, duvets, toiletries, as well as some family gifts such as board games and money vouchers. Communicator is all about supporting the local area and we plan to continue this supportive work in the future. It certainly helped Christmas cheer and brought us together as a business.“

Carol Taylor, Senior Fundraiser at Children North East, says: “Christmas plays a large role in family life and can be the cause of a lot of stress and anxiety for the families and young people we work with, but the Giving Tree Appeal alleviates some of the pressure on them.

Communicator have gone above and beyond in their generosity for our families this Christmas and we are so grateful for their continued support.“
