Edinburgh estate agency reveals Newcastle expansion
Edinburgh-headquartered Rettie & Co Estate Agency is moving slightly south of the border, expanding to the North East for the first time with the opening of a new office in Newcastle.
With offices in Berwick, London and throughout Scotland, the firm’s services range from residential sales to letting and management.
Securing a ground floor unit in Jesmond, the agency believes it has the perfect platform to establish its new regional presence.
Newcastle-based chartered surveyor and property consultancy Sanderson Weatherall assisted Rettie with the move.
Rob Taylor, managing director at Rettie & Co, said: “One of the reasons we chose the unit in Jesmond is due to it being considered one of the most culturally vibrant and eclectic areas in Newcastle upon Tyne.
“It is mixture of both affluent residential areas and upmarket student lettings, and is often hailed as one of the trendiest and prosperous places in the region.
“Sanderson Weatherall’s proactive approach to finding us the right unit in an area of high demand and low supply was vital and Mark Convery’s advice and market knowledge was invaluable and gratefully received. The whole process was straightforward with every aspect taken care of without question.”
Mark Convery, surveyor at Sanderson Weatherall’s Newcastle office, said: “Our extensive knowledge of Newcastle makes us ideally placed to assist and advise Rettie & Co on a suitable property in the city to gain its first footing in this region.
“Rettie & Co work widely across Scotland and Northumberland, so I am certain that this acquisition will have a very positive effect on its continued growth.”
