Pie maker ploughs £1.2m into Crewe facility upgrade
Baked goods firm Wrights Food Group has made a seven-figure investment in its Crewe-based manufacturing facility.
The firm, which is headquartered in Stoke-on-Trent, spent £1.2m on a new Rademaker pie line to enhance efficiency and expand its product range.
The £20m Weston Road facility has the capacity to produce more than 5m savoury products every week, but Wrights believes the latest investment will allow it to double its current production capabilities.
According to Food Manufacture, the company’s operations director, Neville Carruthers, said: “We are continuing to invest in our Crewe production facility and the installation of this new improved line underlines our commitment to providing customers with a wide choice of quality products that can be tailored to their individual specifications.”
Wrights Food Group currently employs 450 people across its manufacturing facilities.
