New Land Rover Defender dealership launches in North Yorkshire following £500k investment
A new 4x4 dealership, specialising in the Land Rover Defender, has launched in North Yorkshire.
LR Motors has received a £500k investment and will employ four people. The owners hope to build a nationally recognised brand around the company’s expertise in Defender.
Ross Munro, LR Motors’ sales executive, said: “We have seen a huge leap in interest around the iconic Defender as production ceases. Fans of the historic vehicle are eager to snap up good examples, and we’ve gone to great lengths to source stock from across the UK.
“We have a great selection of Defenders and with new stock coming in all the time, customers are bound to find something they like. We also offer a vehicle sourcing service, so if you want something else please let us know.”
LR Motors will buy and sell Defenders, and offer a service department for owners, staffed with a team of experienced technicians.
The last of the current Land Rover Defenders rolled-off the production lines of Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull factory in the West Midlands in December 2015.
The Defender is the name given in more recent years to the original Land Rover, which was first produced in 1948.
The 4x4 vehicle, which is exported all around the world, represents the continuation of the very first Land Rover which came onto the scene in April 1948 and was modelled on the wartime jeeps.
