Leeds Mencap's Corporate Challenge back for third year
The Leeds Mencap Apprentice challenge is back for a third year, seeking out creative and entrepreneurial teams to battle it out for the top spot. Just how much money could you make from just a £50 loan, with six weeks to do it? Taking part in the challenge raises much-needed funds for people with learning disabilities, whilst also providing a fantastic opportunity to improve team-working skills and fulfil corporate social responsibility aims. Leeds Mencap is hoping to build on the success of previous years with a competition that is bigger and better!
The line-up is looking good so far with seven teams already signed up and raring to go. Last year’s winners Easypay Services, who raised over £5,000, have re-entered in a bid to retain their crown. 2015 runners-up Winston Solicitors are also back alongside five new teams; YCM ltd, BHP Accountants, RBS, Life Search and Irwin Mitchell. With more teams to come, the competition is going to be tough in 2016.
Sarah Shaw, Director at Easypay Services who was there to receive the winner’s trophy in 2015 had this to say;
“Leeds Mencap is a charity that Easypay Services has grown to absolutely love, and the work they do to support people with learning disabilities is fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed taking part, and can’t wait to do it again.”
Cath Lee, CEO of Leeds Mencap said; “I am incredibly proud and happy that we are able to present this exciting opportunity to the corporate world. The Apprentice has proved over the last two years that it is a thoroughly enjoyable and fresh way for businesses in Leeds to meet their objectives as well as do some great work in aid of a worthwhile cause. We are also very excited to have the challenge supported by aql for the second year and welcome them on board!”
Leeds Mencap is extending an open invite to businesses both small and large to take part in the competition to be named Leeds Mencap Apprentice Champions 2016!
