Oulton Hall receives £1.1m tech makeover

Oulton Hall, Yorkshire’s 18th century mansion-turned-hotel, is set to receive an investment of more than £1m, to enhance its offering to hotel guests in 2016.

QHotels’ £1.1m investment will enable Oulton Hall to offer both business and leisure guests the latest technology features and solutions to during their hotel experience.

As well as upgrading the furniture, décor and furnishings in its bedrooms, the refurbishment also includes:

  • Bedside USB charging points in bedrooms.
  • New safes specifically designed for laptops and a laptop drawer with lighting for easy access and use.
  • Upgraded LED lighting to enhance the working environment in rooms for business travellers.
  • Improved WiFi service with a greater capacity so guests can stay connected while moving around the hotel, and supporting the high density use needed for conferences and events by allowing at least 500 simultaneous connections.

Claire Steven, general manager of Oulton Hall, said: “To continue to offer the very best experience for our guests, it’s important that we’re not only listening to our customers but taking their feedback on board to evolve and enhance the facilities at Oulton Hall.

“The refurbishment will benefit all the different types of guests we welcome, from hotel and spa leisure guests to business travellers and those attending conferences and events.”

The investment made by QHotels, which owns Oulton Hall and 25 other hotels across the UK, including The Queens in Leeds and Aldwark Manor near York, is part of a bigger £50m investment across the hotel group this year.
