Plans submitted to transform North Yorkshire’s Grantley Hall into luxury hotel and spa

Plans have now been submitted to extend and refurbish the Grade II* listed property, Grantley Hall, which is to be transformed into one of the UK’s premier hotel and spas.

Submitted by Grantley Hall Ltd, the plans incorporate a revamp of the existing building, together with a state of the art spa and wellness centre which, in total, will accommodate 51 suite-style bedrooms.

The proposals also include further development of current outbuildings to create on-site staff accommodation and associated landscaping.

The new design of Grantley Hall will aim to attract UK and international visitors to this area of North Yorkshire.

Grantley Hall Ltd, which purchased the property in 2015, is owned by Valeria Sykes, who has previously taken on other restoration projects such as Studley Royal House and the Duck House Conservation Estate.

Speaking on the project, Valeria said: “Since my divorce from Paul Sykes in 2012, I have embarked on a number of very exciting restoration projects. With Grantley Hall we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to create something in the north of England befitting of an international stage and I look forward to creating a venue that Yorkshire can be proud of.”

As part of the restoration, the company has pledged its commitment to working with as many local suppliers and contractors as possible, estimating a creation of 200 jobs for the project itself and approximately 150 jobs once the hotel and spa opens.
