Clients' energy bill savings add up to £5.5million
During 2015, energyTEAM Midlands (part of Inprova Group’s fast expanding energy division), has saved its clients more than £5.5m through its expertise in flexible energy procurement.
The full-service energy consultancy has embarked on a major drive over the last 18 months to help businesses realise the benefits that flexible, shorter-term energy contracts can offer.
By working with energyTEAM’s experts, businesses can effectively buy chunks of energy over a period of time covering months, quarters or seasons which enables them to take significant advantage of fluctuations in the market.
Compared to the costs they would have incurred using a one-year fixed term contract, they collectively saved £5,556,173 over 2015 alone, with each business saving on average more than £278,000 each with one business saving an incredible £1.7m.
Smaller companies with lower consumption needs have also been able to take advantage. By using ‘collective flex’ contracts energyTEAM purchases energy for groups of clients to secure better deals that wouldn’t be possible individually.
Of the £5.5m saved, £822,343 was secured via collectives.
Magnus Walker, Head of Supplier and Risk at Inprova Group, said: “When it comes to purchasing energy, both fixed-term and flexible contracts come with pros and cons.
“But what we have found is clients who opt for the flexible approach can make substantial savings, particularly when they work with an experienced energy consultant who fully understands the complexities of what can be highly volatile markets.
“It allows them to spread the risk of energy procurement over a period of time and take full advantage of fluctuations in market pricing. Savings generated over the last year show there are clear financial benefits for organisations, whatever their energy requirements.”
