Elliot Group reveals Wolstenholme Sq revamp team ahead of demolition work
The post-war warehouses making up Liverpool’s Wolstenholme Square are set to be demolished next week as part of Elliot Group’s multi-million pound transformation plans.
Now, the Merseyside-based developer has announced the team assembled to bring the £40m scheme to fruition.
Crosby-based contractor Newry Construction has been chosen to carry out the enabling works on the site, while engineering consultancy White Young Green will handle project management.
Liverpool-based Clancy has joined the project to provide structural and civil engineering, and Abacus Consult Ltd is on board as a service engineer.
Elsewhere, Neil Swanson of urban design practice Landscape Projects will work alongside international artist Jorge Pardo, who travelled to Liverpool in October to meet with Elliot Group boss Elliot Lawless. The two will deliver a refurbishment of the square’s iconic Penelope sculpture and collaborate on associated landscape works.
The Liverpool office of law firm Hill Dickinson, meanwhile, will manage all the contractual elements of the project.
The Wolstenholme Square transformation, which was given the go-ahead by the city council in September, comprises 447 studio and one-bedroom apartments spread across five blocks ranging from three to 10 levels, in addition to space for businesses and a new subterranean home for the nightclub Cream.
