The Printworks supports The Christie
The Printworks has presented a cheque to The Christie for £22,500. Funds were raised following the first ever Manchester Soul Festival held at the venue in August 2015.
The presentation took place in the The Pumpyard on the 20th January, and The Christie Bear attended, along with performers from the festival.
The idea for the fundraising event transpired when Manchester DJ, Frank Byrne, a devotee to the Northern Soul scene for over thirty years, was sadly diagnosed with oesophagus cancer in October 2014. Frank started receiving chemotherapy treatment at The Christie and wanted to create an event to raise funds for the hospital.
