Williams Land Rover invests in BPFC
Leading prestigious retail centre, Williams Land Rover has announced sponsorship of the talented U9s team at Broughton Park Rugby Club.
The partnership has come at a much needed time for the club and as the main sponsor for the up and coming U9s team; each player will receive brand new kits featuring the Williams Land Rover logo on the front of the shirts and also on the side of the shorts.
The club which is based on Houghend Crescent was founded in 1882 and has since developed into one of Manchester’s leading rugby union club’s which supports and nurtures its younger teams.
Phillipa Ranson, Broughton Park FC youth secretary, said: “We are an inner-city club and our players come from a mixed social diversity, so the rugby pitch is a great leveller. We are proud to be a ‘Kids First Rugby’ club as we encourage all players of all abilities and social backgrounds to enjoy the game; as well as developing them both socially and physically through the game of rugby.
“We have players who are Williams Land Rover customers and some who have never stepped into a car showroom. All of our players are issued with a shirt each season but some families can’t afford the full kit, this sponsorship means that our players can now run onto the field dressed the same with no questions asked and can be proud to have such a prestigious sponsor.
“The fact the support comes from a leading car dealership such as Williams Land Rover also adds kudos for our club. Even our youngest players have become increasingly aware of Land Rover over the last year, due to the brand’s involvement in the Rugby World Cup 2015.”
Phillipa added: “Like the Williams Group family is key to us and we are now welcoming Williams Land Rover into ours and thanking them for their support - truly delivering Land Rover’s #WeDealInReal campaign at inner-city grass roots level.”
Gary Nickson, head of business at Williams Land Rover, commented: “As a company, we’re dedicated to working with local sports clubs and so sponsoring the U9s team at Broughton Park Rugby Club was a natural decision.
“Over the next year, we’ll be working with the promising team in their upcoming events and supporting them in any way that we can. We hope that the new kits will help the team flourish in 2016.”
