Brantano Footwear Strood set to close.
Brantano Footwear, the shoe shop chain, has announced its administration is now taking place. The Strood store is now set to close.
On Friday 22nd January, the footwear chain Brantano announced its UK subsidary was placed into administration and it was then confirmed that Price Waterhouse Coopers were ‘assessing the company’ and ‘operating the business as usual until a solution could be found’. The Strood store is now set to close as the ‘Closing Down’ and ‘Clearance’ banners are now up within the Strood store. It is not yet known when the store closure date will be but the signs are showing that the store is set to close down.
The Brantano Footwear store in Strood is the latest of stores which have been closing within the ‘BP Pension Fund’ owned retail park. Earlier this month, B&Q moved out of the store and since the store has been gutted - ready for demolition and redevelopment. The redevelopment of the store will include a gym (provided by ‘The Gym Group’), a cafe and two additional retail units.
