Agents appointed to new Stockton retail concept awaiting green light

A new retail concept is coming to Ingleby Barwick, in Stockton-on-Tees, pending planning approval.

With the green light expected to be given in February, Sandgate Park will consist of twelve retail units, anchored by a convenience store.

Teesside commercial property agents Dodds Brown have been appointed alongside Connect Property North East (CPNE), by developer Sandgate Park Ltd, to market the new retail centre.

Construction of the 14,262 sq ft retail development is expected to start on site this Spring (2016), with completion in the Autumn.

Richard Wilson of Dodds Brown said: “Ingleby Barwick is one of Europe’s largest private housing estates with household numbers expected to exceed 25,000 this year.

“This new high quality neighbourhood development will provide restaurant and convenience shopping and other services for this growing population, and represents a real opportunity for a whole range of retailers.’

Andrew Wilkinson of CPNE added: “We have had interest in the remaining units from potential occupiers such as convenience store operators, estate agents, bakeries, butchers, hair salons, bookmakers and coffee shops. As the units are not yet built, we can still accommodate specific spatial requirements, subject to planning and design limitations, from individual retailers.

“The development should accommodate a restaurant/brasserie as a key focus for the parade and to differentiate itself from the existing retail offer in Ingleby Barwick.”
