UK’s largest Skoda retailer steers towards growth with significant expansion

Leeds-based D.M. Keith, the UK’s largest Skoda retailer, is driving for growth with the refurbishment of its Leeds and York dealerships secured by funding from Natwest.

The refinance, which was advised on by law firm Gordons, has allowed D.M. Keith to fully refurbish its showrooms at its Skoda dealership at Thwaite Gate, Hunslet Road, Leeds and its Skoda and Seat dealership on Wiggington Road, York.

DM Keith currently employs over 200 people in the Yorkshire region.

Angus Keith, D.M. Keith director, commented: “Gordons guided us smoothly through the process, putting us in an excellent position to start the New Year. The funds secured have allowed us to invest heavily in our facilities at York and Leeds which I’m confident will help us to further grow our business.”

Gordons, led by commercial property solicitor, James Kimberley, advised on the property and banking aspects of the refinance. Gordons has a decade-long relationship with D.M. Keith, having previously advised on the company’s acquisition of its sites in Huddersfield, Bradford, York and Hull.

Gordons solicitor James Kimberley added: “The D.M. Keith brand is built on a passion for forging strong relationships with customers, coupled with outstanding service. It has been a pleasure working with the company to secure investment in their existing sites which has allowed them to modernise their dealerships.”

Established over 50 years ago, D.M. Keith supplies new cars alongside a large selection of approved used vehicles. Owned by directors Dougal and Angus Keith, the sons of the founder, the business has been selling the Skoda range for over 40 years this year.

Gordons has offices in Leeds and Bradford, employs 235 people and has a turnover of £22.5m
