North East law firm hails new initiative as resounding success six months on

Gordon Brown Law Firm LLP has reported that 25 local SMEs have achieved their business goals thanks to the firm’s latest initiative - The Core.

The North East law firm launched The Core, described as an affordable straight-talking legal advice offering, six months ago.

It offers legal services tailored specifically for the North East SME audience – from new start-ups to more established enterprises, without the hefty costs and legal jargon.

Ranging from coffee shops and hairdressers to educational providers and childcare services, Core’s client base continues to grow with the team’s ability to provide straight forward advice proving invaluable to the SME market.

Headed up by commercial property solicitor Gwen Jones, alongside fellow solicitor Paul Crawley and paralegal Joy Heron, since its inception, Core has taken its client total to 30 and welcomed an average of five each month after experiencing an increase in demand for its bespoke services.

The team anticipates further growth in 2016 for its Core offering, with plans to work closely with their small business partners throughout the North East; offering workshops and seminars in addition to their day to day legal services.

Gwen said: “Ahead of launching Core as a new division of GBLF’s existing offering we recognised there was a real need for legal advice to be delivered in an accessible way to the local SME market. We are delighted with the success of this particular service line to date which has greatly exceeded our expectations.

“Every day we are contacted by small businesses who have a number of enquiries and concerns – from initial set-up queries, first property matters; lease renewals; employee advice to terms and conditions and equipment leases.

“Our motto is that there are no stupid questions – we understand that one size definitely doesn’t fit all and that today’s small business owner faces a number of different challenges in the current economic landscape. It is therefore great to see that we are starting to help make a difference to SME’s and make both their lives easier and their businesses successful.”
