Urgent care provider Vocare wins first contract in London
Newcastle-based urgent care provider Vocare has been appointed to run the urgent care centre at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London for the next five years.
The company, which also provides GP out-of-hours services, has experienced rapid growth in the last three years and celebrated a string of contract wins in York, Scarborough and Ryedale, Somerset and East Leicestershire in 2015.
With a turnover of £65.5m and 2,286 employees on its books, the contract win is Vocare’s first in London and will see it add to the ten million patients it already serves across the country.
John Harrison, chief executive of the Vocare Group, hopes the contract win will be the first of many in the capital. He commented: “This is a really significant win for us as it gives us a base in London where we are starting to make headway with a strong pipeline of potential new business wins on the horizon.
“St Mary’s Hospital is a very well respected brand to be associated with and we look forward to building a strong relationship with them and with the people of North West London.
“Innovation is at the heart of everything we do and we are constantly striving to deliver our services better and faster than ever before. Our aim is to further integrate urgent care services around the country to ensure that patients receive the right level of care for their needs.”
