Local business kick-starts 2016 with charitable acts!

Local serviced office provider, Stonebridge Offices, which has premises in Leeds and Manchester, has begun 2016 by committing several acts of kindness to support its clients and local charities in the Leeds area.

Stonebridge has pledged £100 to sponsor Frances Davies of Progeny Law, a firm based at its Park House offices in Leeds, to contribute to funds raised for rowing across the Atlantic this winter with three other Yorkshire women. The journey is expected to take 10 weeks and has seen the women spend Christmas Day away from their families, battling waves and surviving on basic rations. If successful, the friends, whose ages range from 44 to 51, will become the oldest all-woman crew to row any ocean.

In another charitable act, Stonebridge is providing a meeting room free of charge to Alopecia UK, which offers information, advice and support to sufferers of alopecia.

Amy Johnson is Alopecia UK’s Communications Manager and also runs a local support group in Leeds, West Yorkshire. She commented:

“Alopecia UK is a small national charity that provides information, support and advice to anyone affected by alopecia. As a small charity we have no head office and our two staff members work from home. When charity trustees, staff and volunteers get together for meetings we rely on the goodwill of businesses to donate their meeting rooms for free.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Stonebridge Offices for allowing us use of one of their meeting rooms in Leeds this month. It is great when businesses support small charities in this way.”

Dave Sunter, Business Development Manager at Stonebridge Offices, commented:

“Supporting local businesses and charities is something that is very close to our hearts at Stonebridge, so we are very happy to have been able to assist Alopecia UK and sponsor Frances’ effort to row the Atlantic – we also wish her and her teammates all the best!”

Stonebridge Offices provides contemporary office space in truly desired locations in Leeds and Manchester, fully furnished with modern desks, ergonomic chairs and well equipped communal facilities including break out rooms and kitchens. Virtual offices are also available offering a cost effective way to achieve a regional presence for businesses.
