Local housebuilder donates £20,000 for community forum

Leading local housebuilder Barratt Homes North East has provided £20,000 of sponsorship to the Stobhill Community Forum to help them continue a programme of subsidised events and trips, and also deliver an all-age community park.

Based in the Stobhill Community Centre in Morpeth, the Forum is available to all residents of Stobhill and is managed by Northumberland Community Enterprise Ltd, an initiative which is addressing unemployment and other social issues that impact the local Stobhill community.

Barratt, which will be launching it’s South Fields development in the area later this year, has pledged £5,000 to help the Forum to continue a programme of subsidised events and trips and £15,000 was given to help deliver an all-age community park including play, sport and leisure facilities. The park has attracted over £65,000 worth of grants – and the Barratt sponsorship ensures the park will be designed and delivered in 2016.
