Yorkshire businessmen combine experience to power new M&E consultancy
Two Yorkshire entrepreneurs have united their knowledge of the energy, water and electrical contracting markets to launch a new mechanical and electrical contracting company based in Leeds.
Think Utility Services has been formed by energy strategist Chris Paddey, of PADD Energy, and Brandon Rowlands, who was previously director of electrical contracting business Pro-Elec.
They are joined by fellow director Stephen Lane, an electrical engineer who has built his career in the renewables sector.
With offices in York Place in the centre of Leeds, the new firm will offer plumbing and mechanical engineering services alongside energy and electrical contracting.
Paddey, a former managing partner of ERM and global practice leader for Halcrow, said: “Growth in the energy efficiency and smart utilities market has created a real opportunity for companies that can offer water and energy consultancy alongside mechanical and electrical services.
“Businesses understand the importance of reducing their energy consumption and they are looking to assess their usage and evaluate their options for low cost technologies that have a quick payback and can help them cut operating costs in a very short space of time.”
Think Utility Services will also offer maintenance services on existing electrical and mechanical systems, including renewable energy schemes.
Paddey added: “We have recently agreed a deal with Yorkshire-based Rudding Park Estate Ltd to maintain their 234kW solar array that generates electricity for their estate and offices.
“This is another key service that has developed as a direct result of our combined backgrounds in electrical contracting and energy management.”
