Music venue invests in voice

A LANDMARK regional venue has upgraded its communication system to make booking tickets easier for music lovers.

Sage Gateshead, which celebrated its 10th birthday in 2014 is the north east’s home for music. In the last decade more than 6m people have visited the iconic music venue and over 1.5m have participated in music and learning programmes boosting the region’s economy by in excess of £200m.

Between September 2014 and August 2015, Sage Gateshead presented nearly 400 concerts, hosted nearly 9,000 workshops and sold nearly 180,000 tickets attracting a significant proportion of new bookers.

Ian Salt, Head of ICT at Sage Gateshead added: “Working with Aspire Technology Solutions we have updated our telephone system with a Mitel MiVoice Business and MiContact Centre platform and improved our telephone system, meaning we can now handle many more calls at any one time, which is particularly important when our popular concerts go on sale.”

Catherine Hymers, Head of Customer Experience said: “As a venue, Sage Gateshead has concerts and performances taking place at all different times of day from morning, lunch time to late at night. It is essential that our systems are reliable and robust to manage the needs of the venue and the customers.”
