Multinational coffee chain signed up to Queen Square development
Costa Coffee has been revealed as the second company to launch at the former Rat and Parrot pub site in Liverpool.
The international coffee chain signed a 10-year deal for a 1,800 sq ft unit, making the Queen Square building’s ground level fully let.
Developer Promenade Estates is currently delivering a £1m refurbishment at the 14,500 sq ft site alongside DK Architects and building firm W H Snow.
Daniel Hynd, Promenade Estates’ director, said: “Costa Coffee is a strong brand, and the fact it is the second largest coffeehouse chain the world means it is great addition to the café culture of Queen Square and will serve the millions of visitors to this area of the city.
“We’re excited for the year ahead as we prepare to announce the final tenant at Queen Square which will see our vision for the Rat and Parrot building come to fruition.”
Costa Coffee, which will join a new Five Guys at the Queen Square site, is due to open by next Saturday (February 13).
