Venn’s Beer Hop Scoops Top Marketing Award

Venn Digital, one of the UK’s fastest-growing digital marketing agencies, is celebrating after scooping a top award at the coveted Northern Digital Awards.

The agency was the winner in the category “Best Digital Marketing Campaign – Travel and Leisure” for the creation and outreach of its stunning micro-site “The Great JW Lees Beer Hop”. The team were on hand to receive their trophy at the ceremony which took place at Leeds Royal Armouries on Thursday (28 January) and was attended by the crème de la crème of the marketing industry.

The Great JW Lees Beer Hop, which launched last September, was developed as part of a multi-platform campaign that successfully ramped up online consumer engagement for leading North West brewer, JW Lees, during Cask Ale Week.

The site’s fun and interactive gaming mechanic, wrapped up a virtual taste-matching methodology with a slick one-armed bandit delivery and helped drinkers navigate their way around the brewer’s 23-strong range of ales. It also gained major stand out for JW Lees during a national awareness drive that was littered with competitor activity.

Brian Whigham, managing director, Venn Digital said: “We’re ecstatic to win this award and very proud to receive recognition from the industry. We knew that when the Beer Hop launched it delivered on every single level, combining design excellence with an innovative concept and totally integrated delivery. It had an immediate impact generating traffic and engagement far beyond our expectations, which is testament to the hard work of our hugely talented and dedicated team.

“Venn is in tremendous shape as we head into 2016 and as the Beer Hop demonstrates, our consumer credentials are stronger than ever - we have some very exciting client wins to announce in the coming weeks so watch this space!”

The award signals a strong start to the year for the agency, following a record-breaking 2015 in which it doubled its turnover, increased its headcount to 50 and opened a new London office in the heart of Clerkenwell’s tech hub.
