Baldwins Accountants acquire four more offices

One of the largest independent accountancy businesses in the UK is continuing its expansion after almost doubling its size in the last 12 months with the acquisition of four more offices across the Midlands – these have all been completed in a single week with a further deal anticipated in the next few days.

Baldwins Accountants has taken its total number of acquisitions to 11 over the last year after taking over Fox Evans in Coventry; Andrews, Orme & Hinton in Shrewsbury; Geraint Humphreys & Co in Oswestry and Gorings Chartered Accountants in Ilkeston.

All the companies will be incorporated into the Baldwins Accountants’ group to increase the number of staff throughout the company to over 400.

David Baldwin, a partner at Baldwins Accountants, said there are still a number of significant acquisitions in the pipeline.

“Last year was the strongest period of growth in our 45-year history and we are determined to sustain our plans for further expansion,” he said. “We are in discussions to secure further acquisitions across the UK as we turn our strategic plans for growth into reality.

“In 2015, we moved into new areas for the first time such as Worcester and Gloucester as well as adding to our presence in towns and cities where we had existing offices.

“We have been working on the acquisitions with Fox Evans; Andrews, Orme & Hinton; Geraint Humphreys & Co; and Gorings Chartered Accountants for several months and we are pleased to have completed the deals.

“They will all complement our existing services with the experience of their staff and we will be able to expand the range of services available to their customers so it is a win-win situation.

“We have made substantial investment in our tax, corporate finance, banking and payroll teams to support the group’s growth and the needs of our clients. “Our presence in Shropshire and Mid-Wales was strengthened by our acquisition of five Turner Peachey offices in 2014 and we have been looking for opportunities to further add to our portfolio.

“This is a really exciting time for Baldwins Accountants as we build on our ethos of providing added value to our clients in tax, specialist tax, banking and finance, and payroll whether they are SMEs or multi-national businesses.

“We are keen to continue to grow organically over the coming months and maintain a steady but constant expansion of our business throughout the UK.”
