Ryanair expands Manchester Airport services with three new European routes
Irish airline Ryanair is set to ramp up its presence at Manchester Airport this winter with three new routes to Germany.
Starting from November, the services will operate daily carrying passengers to Berlin, Hamburg and Nuremberg.
Ken O’Toole, the airport’s managing director, said: “It is hugely positive to see Ryanair expanding its offering from Manchester Airport.
“Nuremberg is an important business destination for the region and it is pleasing to be able to support companies who operate in that part of the world - or are looking to do so in the future - with a new direct service.”
He added: “Hamburg and Berlin are also strong business destinations, which will strengthen Ryanair’s offering from Manchester. I am sure all of the three routes will also prove popular with leisure passengers looking for a European city break.”
Speaking further, Ken said Manchester Airport plans to grow its route network further to better connect the North of England with the rest of the world.
The carrier’s head of communications, Robin Kiely, confirmed that Ryanair plans to announce additional routes in the coming months.
Brian Holliday, the MD of German tech giant Siemens’ UK-based Digital Factory division, commended the launch of the Nuremburg service.
He said: “Siemens has a significant presence in the North West and we are pleased to hear of this new Manchester Airport to Nuremburg route - a destination that is significant for us and the industrial economy we serve.”
