Finance simplified for tech entrepreneurs
Science, engineering and technology companies across the North East gathered to hear how accessing different finance options can be achieved to support future growth.
NETPark Net in partnership with Harlands Accountants held its first breakfast event for 2016, Challenges of Financing a Tech Business, at NETPark, Sedgefield on 2 February.
North East Finance (NEF) supported the event at the NETPark Incubator with the aim of raising awareness of the specialist funding available to regional tech companies.
Jane Reynolds, Tees Valley business manager at North East Finance, said: “We’re delighted to have supported this event. It was great to see so many tech businesses getting the information they needed and individual questions answered as well as getting valuable tips from experienced entrepreneurs who are themselves on the route to building a successful business.”
Organised by NETPark Net, the event featured a great line-up of speakers from companies including, BioSignatures, Ibex Innovations and Radfan with the panel discussion being led by Phil Murray of Harlands accountants.
Elaine Scott, innovation development executive at Business Durham, said: “The event was well attended with around 30 individual businesses from across the North East represented among the delegates. We tried out a new format which included an expert panel taking questions from the floor. It worked very well and the feedback we’ve received so far is excellent.”
The next NETPark Net Breakfast event will take place on Tuesday 1 March. This event is free-of-charge to NETPark Net and Affinity members. Non-members: please email innovation@uknetpark.net or visit www.northeasttechnologypark.com to attend as a guest.
In addition, an Equity Financing Demystified workshop will be held on Thursday 24 March.
