Press Release

More than 30 accountancy firms sign up for specialist tax service

More than 30 accountancy firms have signed up to a specialist tax service to provide them with additional expertise.

The firms, predominantly in London and the North West of England, are partnering with Enterprise Tax Centre.

ETC, based in Knutsford, Cheshire, provides professional services firms with a range of specialist tax services.

The ‘Your Tax Partner’ service includes advising clients on areas such as profit extraction planning, structuring of new or existing trading or investment businesses, inheritance tax and estate planning, Capital Gains Tax planning, R&D tax credits, Capital Allowances, Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) and Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS).

ETC has extensive experience advising international families including those who are non-UK domiciled, temporarily non-UK resident or trading overseas.

The company is also one of only a handful in the UK providing a pension-led funding (PLF) service which their clients are able to offer to business owners.

PLF allows entrepreneurs to utilise funds in their pensions to finance the growth of their businesses.

ETC is led by its three directors Richard Cunningham, Andy Wood and Angela Wood. Richard is ex-Baker Tilly and Deloitte & Touche, while Andy previously worked for Grant Thornton, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young. Both are chartered tax advisers. Angela is an experienced tax lawyer and chartered tax adviser having worked for both Deloitte and Addleshaw Goddard.

Richard said: “The overwhelming feedback we have had from professional firms is that they find it incredibly difficult to be all things to all men.

“More than 30 accountancy firms, mainly in London and the North West, have adopted our bolt-on tax department since we launched the Your Tax Partner service six months ago.

“We are not looking to take on general accountancy and audit work; instead we provide specialist tax know-how and experience when it is required. We aim to provide our clients with Big 4 tax knowledge at a fraction of the cost.

“A number of clients have been able to grow existing client relationships as well as tendering for new work they would not previously have considered.”

In addition to accountants, ETC is also providing the ‘Your Tax Partner’ service to several law firms.
