Newly-owned Darlington business park welcomes three new tenants

Three businesses have taken up residency at Darlington’s Morton Park Way business park following its acquisition by property firm Rockspring, in partnership with industrial asset specialist Caisson Investment Management.

BD Aviation, Bold Bloc Design Ltd and Advantage Signz UK will each move into 1,544 sq ft units on the site, which has been earmarked for further investment following its £4m purchase in December last year.

Bold Bloc Design is expanding from the Mall, inside the Morton Park Morrisons complex, Advantage Signz UK is relocating from Eaglescliffe, while BD Aviation is adding to its current operations across Europe.

The site, which covers 106,000 sq ft, comprises 46 light industrial units and is marketed by Connect Property North East, which secured the acquisition on behalf of the purchasers, as well as managing the new tenancies.

Jonathan Simpson, Director of Connect Property North East, said: “The three new lettings are the first steps in driving greater occupancy at Morton Park Way under its new ownership.

“I am delighted to have seen these three lettings turned round in such a short period of time by our client, in what is proving a very busy period on the estate.

“These three lettings are clearly a sign of the upturn in the market, and we are hoping to make further announcements shortly on the back of having agreed terms on a number of further vacant units since Christmas.

James Ward, Head of Northern Region at Caisson Investment Management, said: “Rockspring and Caisson Investment Management are committed to comprehensive refurbishment, and as this programme progresses, we are confident that we will continue to attract new tenants and allow existing tenants to expand. We look forward to more good news in the near future.”

Lee Mcstravick, Managing Director of Advantage Signs UK, commented, “We are delighted to have relocated the business to Morton Park. The new building has enabled us to grow and expand the business on a modern, secure site with excellent links and accessibility to both our clients and the wider region.”
