Global insurer Hiscox’s £19m York city centre offices complete

CBRE’s Building Consultancy team in Leeds has completed Hiscox’s 50,000 sq ft new office building, located in the Hungate area of York.

CBRE was initially appointed by specialist global insurer Hiscox, to assist in identifying a suitable site for the company’s regional base in York.

Once the site was selected, CBRE was subsequently engaged to project manage the procurement and construction of the new site, which has recently completed.

The new 50,000 sq ft office represents an approximate £19m investment and is Hiscox’s largest office building within the UK outside of London.

With the capacity to employ up to 500 people, the new purpose built office’s design was inspired by the local heritage and long architectural history of the area.

The Hiscox Building is located in the Hungate area of the city and is a multi-function office, housing a range of roles including underwriters, legal advisors, claims, customer services, IT and HR as well as incorporating the company’s customer experience centre for the North.
