Harrison Spinks’ Spink & Edgar bed brand launches in the US

Spink & Edgar, the Leeds-based premium mattress brand by bed maker Harrison Spinks, has launched in the US.

The new Spink & Edgar USA collection features the heritage and high-end qualities associated with Harrison Spinks’ Spink & Edgar brand in the UK.

The collection also includes the bed manufacturer’s spring technology, as well as a wide range of natural materials including wool, hemp and flax, grown on Harrison Spinks’ own 300-acre farm in North Yorkshire.

Spink & Edgar is entering the US market at the retailer Sit N Sleep, comprises six different bed variants in its USA collection.

Four will be assembled in the U S using natural materials imported from England, while the remaining two beds will be imported directly from the Spink & Edgar factory in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

As licensor of the Spink & Edgar brand, the Harrison Spinks team is working with brothers Mark and Jeff Quinn and Lance and Neil Ellman to launch the new collection in the US.

Mark and Jeff both boast strong experience in the bedding industry, with Mark having previously worked at Leggett & Platt and Jeff at Mattress Firm. Lance and Neil Ellman own an independent bedding producer in the US.

Simon Spinks, managing director at Harrison Spinks, said: “Mark, Jeff, Lance and Neil all have a large amount of experience in the retail bedding sector, so to work with them to launch Spink & Edgar USA is really exciting.

“As a fifth generation family business, I’m hugely proud to see Harrison Spinks branching out into the US market by launching Spink & Edgar USA. We’re the only bed manufacturer in the world to have a farm on which we grow our own natural fillings for our mattresses and, by exporting these natural materials to the US as part of the Spink & Edgar USA manufacturing process, we’re positioning ourselves as the world’s most innovative bed manufacturer.

“The next few months are set to be very exciting for Spink & Edgar USA, and I’m looking forward to working closely with the Quinn and Ellman brothers to drive the brand forward into new markets across the US.”

Spink & Edgar USA mattresses are currently being produced at a state-of-the-art bedding facility in Phoenix, with plans to roll out to its Dallas and Orlando manufacturing operations over the next few months.
