Advantec helps electricals company power into consumer market
Southampton digital agency, Advantec, has partnered with R&M Electrical Group, one of the UK’s largest electrical distributors, on the official launch of its new consumer-facing division.
R&M Electrical Group, based in Sholing, has trade depots based across the country and 5 separate international divisions. Following a competitive 5-way pitch, Advantec was chosen by the Group to produce branding, an online shop and a digital marketing campaign, ahead of the launch of its new ‘Electrical Showroom’ business.
The electrical-showroom website specialises in retailing low-energy lighting and electrical products. The range focuses on LED lighting and light fittings that combine the latest LED technology with innovative design features. It is the first time that R&M has targeted and supplied its products directly to domestic customers.
Andrew Brittain, MD at Advantec, said: “The brief was to create a high impact and customer-friendly website, designed to showcase the thousands of products which are available.
“It was important with such a large product range, and so many potential ways to browse and buy, that the design paid close attention to the user experience. To make it as easy to use and as smooth to navigate as possible.”
He added: “We’re really proud of the finished site. It has been built on the industry-leading Magento platform and really gets across the luxury lifestyle feel. We’re delighted to have contributed something really valuable to an already very successful client.”
Traffic will now be driven to the new site through a digital marketing campaign, designed to reach target customers and increase the site’s ranking on search engines.
Commenting on the new website, Rachal Wilson, commercial manager at R&M Electrical Group, said: “We think it’s a work of art and are thrilled with it!”
Advantec works with clients based across the UK, ranging from regional businesses to government organisations. Recent projects have included the creation a new e-commerce website for Beaulieu, one of Hampshire’s top tourist attractions.
