Amec Foster Wheeler successful in ETSON membership
Amec Foster Wheeler is continuing its drive to position itself as a leader in nuclear regulatory support, gaining entry to a European safety outfit.
The Cheshire-headquartered engineering firm has successfully applied to become the only UK-based member of the European Technical Safety Organisation Network (ETSON).
Acceptance into the organisation recognises the company’s successful delivery of independent support to the UK regulatory community.
Amec Foster Wheeler’s independent Regulatory Support Directorate team joins other independent Technical Safety Organisations from 10 countries in Europe along with associated members from across the world.
ETSON is dedicated to developing and promoting best practices in nuclear safety assessment, contributing to the harmonisation of nuclear safety practices and fostering dialogue with nuclear safety authorities across Europe.
Greg Willetts, Vice President of Amec Foster Wheeler’s Clean Energy business, said: “Membership of ETSON represents a significant opportunity to collaborate with European counterparts to enhance standards of nuclear safety in Europe and beyond.
“For our UK regulator customers it means we can bring best practice and latest innovations in effective regulation to them.”
Benoit De Boeck, President of ETSON and General Manager of Bel V, the Belgian member of ETSON, said: “Amec Foster Wheeler’s independent regulatory team has a great pedigree in the nuclear industry and lives by the values of ETSON. We are pleased to welcome the company as the UK member.”
