Nod of approval for multi-million pound logistics hub in Cheshire

Property developer Stoford and land owner Ainscough Strategic Land have secured outline planning consent for three warehouse and logistics units on a 24-acre site in Cheshire.

The multi-million pound development, located at Ditton Park in Widnes, was this week given the thumbs up by Halton Borough Council, potentially boosting investment and jobs in the region.

The proposal outlines a 196,500 sq ft unit with 9,500 sq ft of offices, another of 174,250 sq ft with 8,600 sq ft of office space across two levels, and a 85,800 sq ft unit with 5,960 sq ft of offices.

Dan Gallagher, a joint MD at Birmingham-based Stoford, commented “The 24.4-acre site is in an excellent location near to the Jaguar Land Rover plant at Halewood.

“It provides us with a great opportunity to create three industrial and warehouse units in an area that will appeal strongly to companies operating in various sectors, including suppliers working alongside JLR.”

He added: “Now we have received outline planning consent site preparation works will start with the aim of having it ready for development as soon as possible.”

According to Ainscough director Rachael Ainscough, remediation work is expected to start soon and the site could be ready for development by Q4 2016.
